When we visited Carmel in 2021, we were travelling with my son Ryan's family and their four month old St. Bernard puppy so we looked on AirBnB for a pet friendly place.
We found the Carmel Inn Resort which had a 2 bedroom cottage with kitchen that accepted dogs and we booked it for three nights.
Much to my surprise I discovered that this place was the same group of cottages that I stayed in often with my parents in the 1950s and 60s.
These older cottages each have their own parking space and are set together amongst the trees covering almost an entire block.
Each cottage has a small patio of its own with table and chairs and the center of the court features a nice grassy garden patio with a small fish pond.
The rooms, if old and poorly lit, were clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
My only wish would be that the court was within walking distance of Ocean Avenue.
